    Duck Stamp

It's that time of year again, Junior Duck Stamp Competition time! Every year George Walton Academy students participate in the US Fish and Wildlife Service's Junior Duck Stamp Program. The students learn a little about various duck species and then they create a realistic duck drawing in art class. With your permission we enter the students into the contest where they have the opportunity to win prizes and receive recognition for participating in the program. Here is a link to more information about the program.

Please complete the entry form for your child and return to school no later than Monday February 16th. Be sure to complete all information on the entry form including parent and student signatures (if your child cannot write in cursive, just have them print their name.) If you are not sure of the duck species, and it has not been filled in yet, just leave that part blank and your child and I will make sure to complete that part when they are in class. If your child wants to add a conservation message they are welcome to do so. There is a separate competition for the best original conservation message too. The student is welcome to add a title to their artwork in the appropriate space provided.

It is a fun opportunity for the kids to learn about wildlife in our country. If you have any questions please feel free to email me.

    Thanks,

    Megan Sims
