December Events

                  
The GWA Student Council is participating in the annual canned food drive for the Walton County Empty Stocking Fund.  Food boxes will be prepared for 375 needy families for the Christmas holidays.  GWA is a valuable part of this endeavor.  Please place your items in the barrels provided.  The lower school homeroom and the middle school homeroom that collects the most cans will receive a pizza party. The high school student who turns in the most cans will receive a gift card (cans should be delivered to Mrs. Carson’s classroom).  
*The deadline to submit the total number of cans your class collects is Thursday, December 6th.  
*Winners will be announced on 
Friday, December 7th.

                I need 5th grade chorus to check in with their teacher, then come straight to the auditorium when they arrive at school next Monday, October 29th.  We are recording a music video for a Halloween project and they will be coming to school in their Halloween costumes.
5th Grade will be starting conferences 
the week after the ITBS.

Below is the schedule for the September 14, early release day.  We will keep you posted if anything changes. 
8:00-8:15 – First period attendance

8:30-9:30 – Powder Puff Games
                       9th vs 10th
                       11th vs 12th
                       Championship game
Games should last approximately 20 minutes
  • Will Angel will make refreshments available throughout the morning
9:45-10:00- Line up for the parade

10:00- Parade and Pep Rally starts

11:30- Lower school dismissal
12:00 High school dismissal

Ice Cream Social


I scream! You scream!

We all scream for

ICE CREAM!!

Come join us for an evening of fun and tradition on Thursday night (8/23).
Let’s meet up in the
Nicholson Center (around 6:30) for a sampling of ice cream and spirit wear. Then head to the football field and get a good seat to watch the pep rally 
(it starts around 7:30).

*If you are bringing ice cream,
please arrive by 6:00 to set up in the Nicholson Center!*

New News!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!
 5th graders may bring Valentines to school on Wednesday for everybody in their homeroom class.
They may also pass out Valentines to other students in other homerooms. 

Permission slips are due Monday for the Jekyll Island field trip.
Payment needs to be made before 
March 12, 20018.
