*Members of Dawgs 360 and Corporate Partners do not pay for their pictures.

Please remember those less fortunate and send in cans of food for our annual canned food drive. Thursday, December 7 is the 

last day to collect.

GWA is the largest contributor to the 
Walton County Empty Stocking Fund
 and by filling these barrels we can assist 1000’s of families 
who would otherwise not have a meal on Christmas.  

The deadline to bring in canned food is 
Thursday, December 7^th.

Thanksgiving Blessings

As we enter the holidays, let's not forget those who are in need. We ask that each family consider donating canned food items to the GWA Canned Food Drive. So, as you are shopping for Thanksgiving, please remember the less fortunate and buy an extra can or two 

(or 3, maybe 5, a truckload) to help us fill the barrels!

The class that brings in the most cans wins a pizza party!!

Red Ribbon Week at GWA!

Next week, GWA will observe Red Ribbon Week, the nation's largest and oldest drug prevention campaign. It is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States. 

*Daily events for the week include*

Monday- Put a CAP on drugs (wear your favorite hat)

Tuesday- Peace out drugs (wear a tie dye shirt)

Wednesday- Put a SOCK on drugs (wear your mismatched socks)

Thursday- Lei off drugs (wear a Lei)

Friday- Be a “Jean-us” and be drug free (wear your jeans- not jeans with holes, tattered, and no jean shorts)

Ice Cream Social

GWA's Ice Cream Social!

*Join us in the Nicholson Center on Aug. 24 at 6:30 p.m. for a little sugar and school pride – it's a great way to kick off the school year.

*Current families are asked to bring their favorite frozen desserts to share, while new families should simply come and enjoy; there's no need to bring ice cream this first time.

*Stick around afterwards for a fall sports pep rally at 7:30 p.m. down on Keith Henderson Field.

*Remember to sign up to bring ice cream or to volunteer at the event!

BrainPop Solar Eclipse

Take a look at this video about eclipses. The children watched it in class today, but they may want to watch it again because it is a great "kid friendly" solar eclipse lesson.

For 5th grade, your child will need: 

• 3 ring binder (2 inches) 

• earbuds or headphones 

• Supplies from the prepack that were ordered at the end of 4th grade.   

If you did not order prepackaged school supplies, here is the list of things you will need.

·       Scissors

·       Letter size clipboard

·       Planner (purchase from the school store)

·       Dividers (5 Tabs)

·       Composition book

·       Dry erase markers

·       Pencils

·       3 prong yellow folder

·       3 prong purple folder

·       2 boxes of colored pencils

·       Red pens

·       Notebook paper (regular ruled)

·       Earbuds or headphones

·       3 ring binder
